Budget Cuts and Decreased Enrollments Close Schools Nationwide

From 2008 to 2009, 1,822 public elementary and secondary schools closed, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. A year earlier, 1,515 closed.  Take a look at one such school in Illinois, which will close its doors next fall for the first time since it was built in 1907.
