Summer Goals

by Ann Van De Water

At the end of each summer, I am often left a bit sad that I didn’t do some of the things I meant to do.  So this year I am making a list to help focus my summer goals and help me accomplish them.  Here are some of mine.  I would love to know some of yours.

1.  Read 10 books.  That’s about 1 a week and so far I am on track.  I have read the following FABULOUS, thought-provoking books:

Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
Little Bee by Chris Cleave
Orange is the New Black by Pipe Kerman

Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonsen

2.  Try two new recipes a week.  (I’m a little behind on this and may downgrade to 1 recipe a week.  Not hard to do with all the great summer fruits and vegetables.)

3.  Bring the kids to several outdoor concerts.

4.  Go hiking in Tahoe.

5.  Host a couple of get togethers.

6.  Exercise at least 5 days a week.

7.  Eat more meals outside on the deck.

8.  Clean out those junk drawers.

9.  Do some charitable work.

10.  Gain some technological skills.
