New Recommendations for Kids’ Cholesterol Screenings Spark Debate

The American Academy of Pediatrics supports the new recommendation by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to test children’s cholesterol levels at least once between 9 and 11 years old.  They say the knowledge may help kids change their lifestyles before heart disease sets in later in life.  Others say the test is unnecessary.  Read more
