High School Teacher Defends His “You’re Not Special” Speech to Graduates

All eyes were on high school English teacher David McCullough Jr. when he told graduating seniors, “You’re not special” 9 times during a commencement speech. He has taught high school students for 26 years and says he “knows what they need to hear.”    Read why he said what he did.
