GEMINA: THE CROOKED-NECK GIRAFFEJune is national zoo and aquarium month, so it’s perfect timing to offer a picture book and plush toy giveaway honoring one of the most famous residents of the Santa Barbara Zoo.

GEMINA: THE CROOKED-NECK GIRAFFE is about a giraffe who was born healthy at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. She lived at the Santa Barbara Zoo from 1986-2008.

At the age of three, a mysterious bump appeared on the side of Gemina’s neck, and it grew over time, giving her a crooked neck.

The bump didn’t seem to bother Gemina and she became an inspiration to many visitors since she never let her difference affect her attitude.
