Children’s Author Maurice Sendak Dies at 83 of Stroke Complications

A frail child, Sendak spent hours drawing while in bed as a child.  He would go on to write and illustrate Where the Wild Things Are, the classic picture book, which has been shared with generations of young readers since its publication in 1968.  Nearly all of his stories center around the psychology of growing up.
