Caution Urged as Bears Come Out of Hibernation

With the populations of grizzly and black bears on the rise, and with more humans encroaching on their territory, park rangers suggest hikers never travel alone and that they should carry pepper spray.  This comes after 2 people were killed by bears at Yellowstone National Park last summer, the first such deaths in 25 years.  Yellowstone also holds 1/3 of the nation’s bear population.  Read more
