Abercrombie & Fitch pays cast of Jersey Shore NOT to wear their brand

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is often seen wearing the Abercrombie label with pride.  This week the clothing company announced it’s actually going to pay him and the rest of the cast to not wear their brand because they believe the young MTV stars are tarnishing the A&F image.  A rep for MTV calls the move “A clever PR stunt. We’d love to work with them on other ways they can leverage ‘Jersey Shore’ to reach the largest  youth audience on television.”

What do you think?  Is this a responsible move on A&F’s part, or a clever PR stunt?
